Distribution: COSTA RICA; San Jose,

Habitat: in cloud mountain forests or windy premontane forests and disturbed associated vegetation, 1350-1500 m. Elev.

Etymology: This species is named in honour of Anita Cooper, in recognition of her excellent and extensive work in watercolor illustrations for the field Guide to Bromeliads of Costa Rica (Morales. 2000) and Orchids, Cactus and Bromeliads of the Dry Forest of Costa Rica (Morales, 2001) that I carried out while in Costa Rica in 1996.
