Distribution: COSTA RICA; Cordillera de Talamanca,

Habitat: deforestation areas (pastoral) and the upper canopy of primary forests or between., 1700-2100 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet honors Alvaro " Bari " Fernandez who was the first one in discovering this species, as recognition for his work as a collector of scientific specimens and for the personal friendship that we share.

Phenology: It flowers from April to June; it fruits from September to December.
