Distribution: BRAZIL; Bahia,

Habitat: epiphytically in moist and shady condition in the Atlantic Forest at low elevation in the region of Ibicui, Bahia State.

Etymology: This new species honors its collector, the orchid and bromeliad enthusiast, Edmundo Ferreira Silva, who lives in Itororo City, Bahia State. Mr. Silva has greatly contributed to the introduction of many rare and new species into horticulture.
