Type: Bolivia. Departamento Tarija: Province O'Connor, between Tarija and Entre Rios, near Entre Rios, 64°14" W 21°30" S, 1800 m a.s.l. The surrounding vegetation can be described as a disturbed shrub area within the TucumanianBolivian forest-formation in a transition zone to semiarid montane Chaco forest. The unique species was observed on rocky soil. Collected: Pierre & Claudia Ibisch No. 93.1282, 30 October 1993 (holotype LPB, isotype HEID).
