Habitat: It grows in the cracks of the rocks that accumulate sand on the summits of the plateaus., 300-350 m. Elev.

Etymology: The species is dedicated in memory of Pilar Franco-Rosselli, specialist in the families Cecropiaceae and Euphorbiaceae who collected the type specimen, was an excellent field botanist and full of enthusiasm for botany in the formation of new professionalism in Colombia.
