Distribution: BRAZIL; Minas Gerais

Habitat: restricted to the rocky fields, always occurs in sandstone soils and forms dense populations

Phenology: Most of the analyzed specimens were collected in flower and/or fruit in the months of January and February, except for the specimen Sano 659 (coming from Serra do Cipo) and Rauh 67158 (holotype of E. inerme) collected in October and April, respectively.
