Distribution: BRAZIL: Bahia

Habitat: along the coast line, in lowland forests, usually in sandy soils, forming large colonies in the shady places of the forest floor or growing on rocks, on soil with high moisture, 0-200 m. Elev.

Etymology: The epithet "pseudopetiolatus" refers to the pseudopetiolate leaves of this species
