Distribution: BRAZIL; Minas Gerais,

Habitat: in the rupestral fields directly on rock, 600-900 m. Elev.

Phenology: Different from what we observed in the other species of the genus that occur in the Cadeia do Espinhaco (MG), where flowering prevails between the months of December and March, in E. irwinii the flowering and/or fruiting collections were made in different months throughout the year, with a larger number of herbarium specimens collected between May and September.
