Distribution: HISPANIOLA;

Habitat: epiphyte in moist cloud forests and is most common along rivers and streams. It survives well after disturbance and commonly occurs in plantations of Syzigium jambos and Mangifera indica. Associated bromeliads include Tillandsia usneoides, T. polystachya (L.) L., and T. utriculata., 750-1300 m. Elev.
