Distribution: Mexico: Hidalgo, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas

Habitat: saxicolous on limestone rock or occasionally as epiphytes in areas of deciduous forest, holm-oak, or pine-oak, in a temperate subhumid or subhumid areas, 450-2000 m. Elev.

Etymology: Tillandsia pringlei was named in honor of C. G. Pringle (1838–1911), American botanist and collector of the type specimen.

Phenology: In accordance with the reviewed specimens, flowering is recorded between the months of April and August and fruiting in the months of April, August, and October.
