Distribution: BRAZIL: Espírito Santo

Habitat: heliophyte living on steep, nearly vertical granitic walls in inselberg of the Atlantic Forest domain, 42-545 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name of this new species is a reference to the county of Alegre, southeastern Brazil, where it was discovered.
