Abstract:—One new species of Tillandsia from Ecuador is described and illustrated here. Tillandsia veleziana from the province of Cañar in southern Ecuador is related to T. ionochroma. Distinguishing characteristics of the new species are provided. Two related Tillandsia species, T. fuscoguttata and T. wangerinii, previously placed in synonymy of T. ionochroma, are resurrected and distinguishing characteristics provided.
