Abstract:—In 2013 I satisfied a long-held desire to visit the magnificent country of Brazil. Because my major bromeliad interest is in xerophytic terrestrial species, one of the areas I chose to visit was the Serra do Cipó National Park. This is an interesting area (around 50 kilometres north-east of the city of Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais State, approximately 400 kilometres due north of Rio de Janeiro) that is very frequently visited by botanists and is well known for its botanical diversity and many endemic plant species, including a plethora of terrestrial bromeliads also with several endemics.
