Abstract:—Auyan-tepui is a sandstone table mountain in Southern Venezuela, recently ascended for the first time. Shortly after its first ascent, an expedition was orgaranizecl under the auspices of the American Museum of Natural History for the study and collection of its fauna. One of the party was Mr. G. H. H. Tate, who is keenly interested in botany and who had previously ascended both Roraima and Duida. Thanks to his enterprise a small collection of herbarium specimens was also made and presented to the New York Botanical Garden, while Captain Felix Cardona made another small collection for the Museum at Caracas.
