Taxonomy:Catopsis mexicana Catopsis mexicana L.B.Sm. corresponds to a staminate plant of Catosis paniculata E. Morr., and is therefore synonymyzed under that name. (p.206 (VII Tax.treatment)).—Catopsis minimiflora C. minimiflora Matuda is likely to be a synonym of Tillandsia patriae var . patriae (Rauh 1976) and was therefore, excluded from Catopsis. (p.VII Tax.treatment).—Catopsis montana the type specimen of C. montana L. B. Smith, from Cuba, represents a staminate plant of C. floribunda L. B. Smith (p.VII Tax.treatment).—Catopsis pedicellata Treated as a synonym of Catopsis micrantha L.B.Sm. (p.197).—Catopsis wangerinii var. pisiformis C. wangerinii var. pisiformis comb. nov. syn.= C. pisiformis Rauh (p.217).—Catopsis werckleana Considered a form of Catopsis sessiliflora (R. et P.)
