Abstract:—This is the 8th article of a series of articles about the bromeliads of Suriname and French Guyana. I saw and documented many species of different genera when travelling through these two countries over the years. In the previous seven articles, I presented in alphabetical order of the genera various species in a short portrait, which I have seen all in Suriname and French Guiana. The genera Disteganthus and Guzmania were the last, this article concerns the genus Pitcairnia.
