Abstract:—Tillandsia rosarioae, a new lithophytic species from Argentina, Dept. Salta is described here. It is similar to T. argentina, but differs in some important characters such as tong stems set with rough roots, shorter leaves, short and narrow 2-ftowered inflorescence and shorter flowerbracts. In 1983 the type was collected by Walter Rausch, who collected rnany new plant species, rnainly cacti, on his walking trips across South America. This new species is named after his wife Rosario Rausch.
