Abstract:—T. ulrici is a new species. belonging to the big rock-tillandsias of Mexico. lt was discovered near Rio Guanana, Oaxaca, by Renate Ehlers together witlh B. Janke, Jürgen and Ulrich Lautner: The latter was able to collect a flowering specimen which was the basis for the plant description. T ulrici (named after Ulrich L.) is related to T. rubrispica, but differs in following characteristics: rosette spreading, not narrow and funnelform; inflorescence tripinnate, branches Ionger stipitate, cretaceous; flower bracts shorter than the sepals, prominently carinate, adaxially ‚more lepidote, yellow with red margins, not red; sepals longer and more narrow; glabrous.
