Abstract:—Aechmea wuelfinghoffii E. GROSS spec. nov.
R. Wülfinghoff. since 40 years a friend of Bromeliads, collected last year in Ecuador a new Aechmea, which will be named after hirn. Aechmea wuelfinghoffii is closely related to Aechmea drakeana, but differs in the following parts: Scape thick and floccose lepidote; scape bracts numerous, densely imbricate; inflorescence dense and with sterile apex; floral bracts much longer; sepals longer and lepidote. This new species belongs to the subgenus Pothuava.
