Abstract:—In the first part of my report on the trip to Brazil with Herrmann Eßer I wrote about the adventurous trip to Salvador and our findings in the Chapada Diamantina. In Morro de Chapéu our plant hunt was successful; along with many other interesting bromeliads we found Tillandsia chapeuensis , T. stricta var. piniformis and T. × horstii . After that we went on to Lençóis. On Pai Inácio and on Cachoeira da Fumaça we searched in vain for Tillandsia heubergeri . After all our adventures with the “car wash”, the currency exchange, sunstroke and pedicure by freshwater shrimp, I reported in detail about conventions and customs when dining in Brazil. I continue with our adventures in Rio
