Abstract:—This species, up to now only known from the type collection, is a large rosette with green, soft leaves, flowering height up to 120 cm, surprisingly growing on rocks in a very hot and dry climate. lt is related to T. mooreana (syn.: T. kalmbacheri) differing in size and especially in the cretaceous inflores cence, the almost glabrous leaves, and violet petals. Main diffences from T. pamelae are the longer and broader flower bracts spreading at anthesis, the longer pedicellate flowers and the cretaceous inflorescence too.
