Abstract:—Tillandsia brachycaulos and its relatives are not yet fully investigated. They vary to a great extent. There are many transition forms to T.capitata. T. cryptantha seems to be a synonym to T.brachycaulos, whereas the var. multiflora is presumably a hybrid. T. abdita was not investigated due to lack of living material. The velvet T. velutina was described recently.
