Abstract:—A new species of Bromeliaceae from Bolivia is described. Billbergia issingiana T. Krömer & E. Gross spec. nov. is a rare epiphyte. endemic to the montane ram forest of the Andes („Yungas“), Dept. La Paz. lt is related to B. cardenasij and B. decora but differs from these in various characters, especially in its conspicuous 15 mm long, red sepals and its relatively long epigynic tube. Although the number of Billbergia species recorded for Bolivia ascends to 10, the state of knowledge on this genus is still very low.
