Abstract:—Pitcairnia marinii Manzan. & W Till in Manzanares (2005: 437-8) is a very nice and easy medium sized species. Before flowering the plant is about 50 cm tall and forms several shoots from the base, which makes it easy to split a plant for vegetative propagation. It has nice distinctly nerved foliage and is wholly spineless.
