plant 40–70 cm in diameter, with 40–60 leaves, ca 20–40 cm high, with inflorescence up tp 120 cm high, forming a half open rosette, sprouting at the base and formig small clusters. leaves 25–40 cm long, more or less 1 cm wide, 1.8 cm wide at the base, narrowing continuously upwards, bend lateral and arching downwards, slender acuminate-lineate, forming a more or less symmetric rosette; sheath ca 2 cm wide, 2–3 cm long, 3–4 mm thick, fleshy-succulent, glabrous, smooth, light rose-brownish to violet, towards the margins greenish, back side same color, smooth, glabrous, slightly nerved, margins with some teeth, 0.5–3 mm long, antrorse, green with brownish tip; blade olive-green, towards the center of the rosette with an aubergine tone, smooth, glabrous, back side with slightly lepidote fine longitudinal lines, slightly succulent, flexible, lineate-acuminate, mostly 24–40 cm long, more or less 1 cm wide, close to the sheath 1.2–2.0 cm wide, slowly narrowing to the top of the blade, 1–3 mm thick, tip of the blade pungent, violet-brownish, margins smooth; teeth straight, sometimes also irregular antrorse and retrorse, prominent-triangular, rigid, succulent, 3–7 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, 1.0–1.2 cm apart, triangular, greenish at the base, whitish lepidote, with dark tips. inflorescence monopodial, racemose, simple, straight upright, developing with prominent reddish elongate-acuminate bracts from the lower lateral part of the rosette; fertile part 30–40 cm long, 40–45 mm wide, with more or less 40 flowers; peduncle 5–7 mm in diameter, glabrous, reddish, with about 10 nodes; peduncle bracts the 3–6 basal ones, reddish (in the central part sometimes greenish), with longitudinal white stripes, elongate lineate-triangular, carinate, acuminate, up to 12 cm long, adpressed to the peduncle, amplexicaule, margins with whitish, triangular teeth, 1–2 mm long, 1–2 mm wide; the ones above the basal ones reducing in size, 2.5 cm long, 0.7 mm wide, acute-triangular, reddish, slightly lepidote; floral bracts adpressed to lower part of the flower, green, up to 16 mm long, 6 mm wide at the base, triangular. flowers laxly arranged, in more or less patent, very irregular spacing, 0.5–4.0 cm apart, yellow, corolla funnel-shaped, with a wide opening, 2–2.5 cm long, at the base 5 mm wide, in the middle part about 7–8 mm wide, at the top 10–15 mm wide, sessile; sepals ovate with rounded tips, glabrous, fleshy, yellow with brownish spots, 17–18 mm long, 7–8 mm wide; petals broad spathulate, top in the middle crenate, slightly overlapping, blade divergent, glabrous, yellow, 16 mm long, 9–7 mm wide. stamens free, light yellow, in cross section flattened, 12 mm long, 2–3 mm wide; anther 2.5–3.0 mm long, 1.2 mm wide, dark yellow, in the upper part curved. pistil: ovary in cross section slightly triangular, 7–8 mm long, 2–3 mm wide at the base; style 5 mm long including stigma lobes, light yellow; stigma lobes fringy, yellow, 2 mm long. fruits unknown seeds unknown.
