leaves densely rosulate, lanceolate from an ovate base 2 in; broad, in all only 8–9 in; long, an inch broad low down, thin in texture, tapering gradually to the point. inflorescence: peduncle more than twice as long as the leaves; bract-leaves small, remote, adpressed; fertile part a simple lax erect spike 3–4 in; long. flowers erecto-patent; floral bracts suborbicular, 1/3 in; long and broad; calyx ¾ in; long; sepals obtuse; petals not seen.
