Tillandsia krystofii J.J.Halda & P.Hertus  diagnose
plant short caulescent, usually up to 300 mm tall. leaves many, wide rosulate, up to 250 mm long, rigid, including sheath up to 20 mm wide with very narrowly attenuated tip, densely covered with rusty scales; floral peduncle usually a bit longer than leaves, densely scaled, covered with bracts. inflorescence few-flowered, loosely spicate, a bit longer than leaves. flowers covered by primary bracts which are suberect, elliptic, sharp, densely covered with scales; floral bracts ca 10 mm apart, straw-yellow, much longer than calyx, up 20 mm long, not keeled; flowers* up 60 mm long; petals golden yellow, lobes ovate, patent. stamens reach ca half of the flower-tube. pistil: style elongate; stigma tiny.
