plant saxicolous or epiphytic, caulescent, delicate, 8–10 cm high, roots well developed and branching, with stem denuded or covered by dry leaves. leaves 20–24, polystichous, spreading to lightly recurved, densely disposed; sheath inconspicuous, ca 6 x 4 mm; blade narrow triangular, apex filiform, lightly keeled, grooved, 3–5 cm long, 0,4–0,5 cm wide, green, inconspicuously white scaled on both sides, scales appressed peduncle erect, glabrous, flexing near the inflorescence; peduncle bracts imbricate, covering the peduncle, red, tip greenish, filiforme, about 9 mm long. inflorescence simple , 5–8 cm long, with 4–5 (8) flowers floral bracts glabrescent, ovate, a little inflated, ecarinate, red or pink, covering the sepals, 1 - 1,4 x 0,9–1 cm, tip mucronate flowers sessile, sepals membranaceous, semi transparent, pink, abaxial linear, free, adaxial narrow ovate, connate to about 3 mm from the tip, carinate, 9–12 x 3 mm petals narrow linear, white in the lower part, blades elliptic, rounded tip, spreading, blue-violet, 21–30 x 6–8 mm, exceeding the sepals by about 12mm. stamens included, filaments plicate in the upper half, ca1 cm long; anther linear, ca 2mm, dorsifixed near the base. pistil much longer than the stamens, style 1,3 cm. fruits cylindric, 2,5 cm long.
