Tillandsia poenulata Baker  diagnose
leaves about 30, densely rosulate, linear from a suddenly dilated base ¾ in; diam., 6–8 in; long, 1/3 in; broad low down, tapering to a setaceous point, reflexing from low down, green above, glaucous beneath. inflorescence: peduncle slender, ½ ft; long; bract-leaves with long setaceous tips; fertile part a simple lax non- distichous spike 2 in; long; lower flowers patent; floral bracts oblong, an inch long, bright red tipped with white. flowers: calyx as long as the bract; petal-blade short, white, ungulate, a little shorter than the stamens; claw scaled.
