; 0 acaulescent. leaves lanceolate-¬acuminate, 6–8 in; long, ¾ in; broad above the dilated base, densely coated all over with loose glittering whitish lepidote scales. inflorescence: peduncle 6 in; long; bract-leaves with long free points; fertile part a lax panicle 3–4 in; long; spikes lax; lower 1–1½ in, long, 3–4-flowered; floral bracts oblong-lanceolate, ½ - ¾ in; long. flowers: calyx ½ in; long; capsule-valves an inch long.
